Bread Gulab Jamun

Bread Gulab Jamun is an instant Gulab jamun, from North India. It is very easy to make and it tastes very similar to milk powder gulab jamun.



Ingredients:


Bread - 7 Nos (white bread)

Ghee - 1 teaspoon

Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Milk - 6 tablespoon(for binding)

Sugar - 1 cup

Water - 1 cup

Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon

Rose water - 2 drops

cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon

Oil or ghee for frying


Directions to make:


1.Firstly cut the sides of 7 bread slices. Blend it to fine powder by using a blender.

2.Then, slowly add warm milk little by little, 1 teaspoon of ghee and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder. Kneed it till the dough become smooth and soft.

3. Make the dough into small balls by rolling it on your palm ( greased by ghee or oil).Make sure that ,there is no cracks in ball.

4.prepare every ball in the same manner and place it on a plate.

5.Heat the oil or ghee on medium flame and fry the balls on low flame till get golden brown color.

6. Keep the fried ball on tissue paper to absorb excess oil

7. Heat the pan take 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water and cook the sugar syrup till it become half string consistency. The syrup should not be in watery form, there should be a sticky feel in syrup.(If it is watery, then the balls will break while soaking it in syrup)*.

8. After that, switch off the flame, add lemon juice, a few drops of rose water and cardamom powder into it.

9. Put the bread balls into the sugar syrup and gently mix the syrup with balls by using a spoon.( the syrup should be warm when we add the bread balls)*.

10. Boil the sugar syrup for a minute after adding the fried jamuns.

11. Switch off the flame and allow it to soak for 2 hours

12. After soaking, the jamun become doubled in size. Garnish it with chopped nuts
